How Does The Financial Planning Process Work?
Very similar to how you would work with your client, our process mirrors a holistic approach:
1) Discovery (Initial Assessment) - This is the examination where we analyze your current situation and where you want to be. We take the time to learn about your values, career, family, current financial situation, and your financial goals. If we mutually agree that we are a good fit we move onto the next step.
2) Advice and Recommendations (Examination and Diagnosis) - We create a financial plan that encompasses all of your goals, based on our first meeting. Recommendations will vary from client to client but often include a budget, debt management plan, insurance recommendations, investment advice, mortgage application assistance, tax reduction strategies & more!
3) Implementation (Treatment Plan) - As a team, we implement any recommendations made. This step may be completed in a single meeting or even a series of meetings, depending on your needs.
4) Financial Review (Monitoring and Evaluation) - As your primary financial "health and wellness" specialist, we re-evaluate your progress quarterly. Our holistic approach focuses on your entire long-term picture and not just a specific snapshot of a "symptom".
How Much Do We Charge?
The first meeting is always free of charge. From there, our fees depend on the scope of the work involved and the complexity of your financial situation:
For insurance or mortgage needs: We do not charge our clients a fee. Instead, we are paid directly from the insurance company upon approval of the policy. A referral fee is paid from the mortgage company/broker upon approval of the mortgage.
For one-time holisitic financial advice: Fees range from $200 - $300/hour depending on the scope of the work involved and the complexity of your financial situation.
For ongoing holistic financial advice: We charge a flat annual fee based on your networth. This way, our advice remains bias free and is tied to increasing your overall wealth. This is usually used by clients who need on-going investment and business advice.
